The Mount Jackson Battery B, M.E or Methodist Episcopal Church Hill Cemetery is located less than a quarter of a mile from the center of the town of Mount Jackson, East on state route 108 or the Mt Jackson Rd. The church building was built about 1842 and was destroyed by fire on July 26, 1915. No new church was built and the cemetery is now known at the Battery B Cemetery. The dates of grave stones gives a idea where the church stood. From the Battery B monument up the hill are newer more recent deaths. About row 16 starts death dates of 1902, etc. There are many Civil War Soldiers buried there. |
