Not having the means to gain a Settlement Arthur Featherstone and his wife Deborah were likely to become chargeable to the Said Parish of Pembury. The Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Pembury duly summoned Arthur Featherstone and his wife Deborah to appear before his majesty&amp;rsquo;s justices of the peace. Arthur Featherstone upon oath stated that his last legal Settlement is in the Parish of Brenchley his wife Deborah who appearing accordingly and having nothing? To allege. His majesty&amp;rsquo;s justices of the peace commanded the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Pembury to forthwith remove and convey the said Arthur Featherstone &amp;amp; Deborah his wife out of and away from the Parish of Pembury to the Parish of Brenchley that being the Place of the last Legal Settlement of the Said Arthur Featherstone And there to deliver them together unto the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of Brenchley who are hereby required and commanded to Provide for them (if need or required)&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</line></content></metadataxml>
