<metadataxml><content><line>&lt;p&gt;From the Vandalia, Illinois Leader (newspaper) &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Dave Buchanan, lifelong resident of Sefton township, who Sunday, November&amp;nbsp; 28, observed his 90th birthday, has nine grandsons serving in the armed forces.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;To help Mr. Buchanan celebrate his 90th birthday five of his six children were present for a family dinner at the home of Arthur Buchanan in Sefton.&amp;nbsp; One daughter, Mrs Lettie Landacre, Duboise, Idaho, was unable to attend. The other children present were Mrs. Iva Goldsboro, Sefton; Mrs. I. W. Buchanan, Montant; Mrs. Nellie Griffith, Decatur. Several grandchildren were also present as were Mrs. U. G. Smith, sister of Mr. Buchanan, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Diveley, neighbors and Rev. and Mrs. Carl Gibson.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Mr. Buchanan has 31 grandchildren and 18 great grand-children but no great-great grand-children. This sturdy pioneerwho can recall the covered wagon days has never been shaven by a barber nor had a tooth pulled by a dentist. He enjoys good health. &lt;/p&gt;</line></content></metadataxml>
