<metadataxml><content><line>Aaron Wyatt was born in 1790 in Rowan or Wilkes County. By 1810 Census in Wilkes County Aaron was on his own and was listed separate from is parents.</line><line/><line> In 1814. Aaron enlisted in the army and fought in the war of 1812. Note: "Copys of his Payrow papers are on hand". The papers show that he was a private in Capt. James Martin's Company of the infantry, 7th Regiment North Carolina Detachment Militia.</line><line/><line> He inlisted on February 1 1814 and was paid 60 dollars and Fifteen cents for seven monthes &amp; four days From that pay was deducted $4.25 for shoes and a blanket. The other three formes are Muster Rolls which show that Aaron Wyatt enlisted and was stationd at Fort Hawkins from Feb, 1 to March 28, 1814; Camp Jackson March 28 to August 17.</line><line/><line>In the Wilkes North Carolina 1820 Census Aaron Wyatt was living alone and making a life for himself. on October 20, 1829 after fourty years of being single he married Susie Sheets. in the 1830 census thay were both listed with ages. Aaren was listed 30 to 39(he would be 40 years old later that year) and Suse was listed 15 to 19 years in age. in the same household a woman of 60 to 69 years of age was listed this was probably Aaron's widowed mother. His father would have been 63 at this time.</line><line/><line>On August 28, 1832 the happy couple added to their family with the birth of Hannah. Willson, the first son, was born a couple of years later on August 1, 1834. Another daughter, Louisa, was born on August 2, 1837.</line><line> In the 1840 Ash County census of North Carolina, Aaron is found with one son 5 to 10 years old(Wilson); one female under 5-99Malvinia) ; one female 5-9(Louisa) ; one female 10-14(Hannah) ; along with Susie who is listed as age 20 to 29 and Aaron age 40-49 and another femail, but not the one listed in the previous census. This one is listed as age 50 to 60. This one might have been Susie's Mother or Aunt.</line><line/><line>That same year Melvinia was born on May 29, 1840. the following year Sally was born on April 16, 1841 and Alexander March 24, 1844. Mollie was the 7th child in the growing family as she was born May 6, 1847. Joseph arrived just befor the end of the decade on April 24, 1849.</line><line/><line> the 1850 census again listed the age of each household member. Aaren was listed as 59. The census was taken November 26 or reported at that time. Aaren Birthday would have been after this and befor the end of the year to have his birth in 1790.</line><line/><line> Other members in the household were Susie(age 37); Wilson(17); Louisa(14); Malvinia(12); Sally(10); Alex(7); Polly(5); Joseph(4); John(4 months). Hanna had married John Garvey at this time and was listed separate from the rest of the family. They were married October 14, 1851. and John Andrew Wyatt(listed as four months old) was born August 17, 1852. Government Census taker must have been a little slow.</line><line/><line> Solomon was born in 1855. the same year that Aaren applied for a land grant. The govermant had passed a declaration that veterans could apply for bounty land under the act of September 29, 1850. He received 80 acres and later sold the property. Under a new act enacted March 3, 1855, he was entitled for an additioonal ammount of land. Form on Land Copy are on hand.</line><line/><line> Aaren and Susie Wyatt celabrated the wedding of their son Wilson to Olive Faller October 18, 1855. it ws quite a year for the family. It appeared that thay were beginning to make progress in achieving all their dreams and achieving all their dreams and aspirations. Thay had a nice farm and a growing family that was now reaching maturity and leaving to start their own.</line><line/><line> In 1857 Jane was born and May 15 1859 their last child Ellen. was born.</line><line/><line> In the 1860 census for Ash Co, North Carolina, Aaren Wyatt's farm was listed as being worth $1200. Certainly not a major plantation, but for a family actively involved in the Church of the Brothern where slavery and war were prohibited, it was a sizeable sum of money.</line><line/><line> The house hold consisted of Susie(listed as age 40); Lousia(220; Malvinia(20); Sarah listed as Sally sefor; 18); Aleaxander(16); Mary( who was listed as Mollie befor; 14) Joseph(12); John(10); Soloman(8); Margreat( Janes first name; 6); and Ellen(2).</line><line/><line> Also listed in the same census as head of household were Thomas Jones, whose son would eventually marry Malvinia; John( age 50) brother of Aaron and his son Andrew( age 27) and his wife Gona( age 21).</line><line/><line> During the Civil War. The family was persecuted by both sides. Only Wilson entered the war as a soldier but later committed his life to Christ and became a minister for the Church of the Brothern.</line><line/><line> At the end of the Civil War, their home and surrounding area lay in ruin. Instead of rebuilding and trying to put their lives back togather in this area thay decided to do as many of their friends were doing "Go West" .</line><line/><line/></content></metadataxml>
