OBJE:_META	<metadataxml><content><line /><line><tbody></line><line><tr></line><line><td valign="top"></line><line><p align="left"><span style="font-size: small;">Excerpts from Our Fesmire Relatives by Blake Williams</span></p></line><line><p align="left"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In 1780 John Fesmire, Christian Fesmire, John Fesmeyer, Martin Fesmire, and William Fesmire came from Germany, by way of Holland, to the United States.&nbsp; The first three settled in Oxford Township, Pennsylvania.&nbsp; Martin and William came on to Chatham County, North Carolina, Hillsborough District.</span></p></line><line><p align="left"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In 1798 Martin Fesmire was a "Trustee of the Mount Pleasant Meeting House, Methodist Church, on the south side of Big Brush Creek in Randolph County."</span></p></line><line><p align="left"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Martin Fesmire with a wife, three boys, and four girls, ages 16 and older, are listed in the census of 1790, North Carolina.&nbsp; The names of only two are known:&nbsp; William, no further record, John Alston who came to Henderson County, Tennessee about 1831.&nbsp; He brought two sons, Martin V. and Balaam and also brought a nephew, Balaam F. along with all their families from Randolph County, North Carolina.</span></p></line><line><p align="left"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Balaam F. Fesmire (1800-1884) m Kizzie Fesmire (1802-1854) had 3 children:&nbsp; Amanda 1830, William 1833 (who in 1870 had wife Martha, 36, Josephine 15, Alice 10, Ada 8, Albert S. 2, Samuel H. 3/12; (and) Mary 1838.&nbsp; The families of Simeon and J. R. Fesmire, shown in the census are both probably that of Balaam F.</span></p></line><line><p align="left">&nbsp;</p></line><line></td></line><line></tr></line><line></tbody></line><line /></content></metadataxml>
