OBJE:_META | <metadataxml><content><line><p><span style="font-size: small;">Update: I found some more notes buried in my box of information. &nbsp; It looks like Eleanor was born a Parsons and then married a Baer, she was then widowed and later married John J Black. &nbsp;I want to do more digging through my information but I am starting to regret deleting all the Parsons links. &nbsp;I have several pages of photo copies from the family Bibles but they are in no order, so still looking. &nbsp;</span></p></line><line><p><span style="font-size: small;">-----</span></p></line><line><p><span style="font-size: small;">I have the autobiography titled "My Other Life" written by Ora O Black. &nbsp;I have removed all references of Parsons from this person within my tree for now. &nbsp;I am not saying Parsons is incorrect but only that I have some very reliable information that referes to her as a Baer. &nbsp;I am trying to get more information on this. &nbsp;I do have other documentation that suggests she was widowed and remarried at some point. &nbsp;I am beginning to believe her maiden name was Baer and then maybe married a Parsons after Black died. &nbsp;I do know my mother was named after this Eleanor Baer.</span></p></line><line><p>&nbsp;</p></line><line><p><span style="font-size: small;">Below is a direct quote from Ora's book.&nbsp;</span></p></line><line><p>&nbsp;</p></line><line><p><span style="font-size: small;">"The old mountain home had sheltered several generations of Blacks. &nbsp;Grandfather Black's family was not the least in size. &nbsp; He had married a Miss Eleanor Baer. &nbsp;Judging from her photograph, she was a serious young woman. &nbsp;I wish I had known my father's parents. &nbsp;Judging from the size of their family they were quite prolific. &nbsp;Seven sons and one daughter blessed their home. &nbsp; To name them: Marian, George, Jess, Robert, John, Jacob, and Thomas Mortimer, my father. &nbsp;Caroline was the only girl. &nbsp; Her brothers called her Sis. &nbsp; We children had never heard her called by any other name so we called her Aunt Sis."&nbsp;</span></p></line><line><p>&nbsp;</p></line><line><p><span style="font-size: small;">I am posting this as information that may benefit others researching this line. &nbsp;I do see that one other family tree on here refers to her as Eleanor Bare so I am trying to reach out to that person for information. &nbsp; Also keep in mind that the headstone photo people attach to her on here would likely contain the name she had at the time she died, and the name on the Headstone is Eleanor Parsons. &nbsp; If that is the same person, it is unlikely that is her maiden name.</span></p></line><line><p>&nbsp;</p></line></content></metadataxml> |
