Juror at Lyminge in 1537.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Consistory Court of Canterbury Kent, Register of Wills (preserved at the County Archives office maidstone, Kent) Volume 19 (1543-1546), Folio 36:&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;In the name of God, Amen. the second day of Aprill and in the yere of our Lord God 1542, I, Thomas Sloden of the parish of Lyminge beinge in good mynd and perfect remembrance but feelinge the pacelle of death do make this my present testament and last will in manner and forme followinge. First, I bequeath my soule to allmyghty God my maker and to ower Lady Saint Mary and to the Holy company of heaven my body to be buried in the church of Lyminge aforesaid.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item. I will to the heigh alter there for my tythes and oblacions negligently forgotten one wether sheepe of the best.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item. I will to reparcions of the Church there one wether sheepe.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item. I will to have at forthe fare 6 masses with Dirige and at my months 6 masses wt Durige (much wheeping) (a very sorrowful song) and 2 bushells of wheate to be delete in bred for my soule and all 20 d (pennies).&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will one obitt to be kept with the Church in Lyminge 20 yeres ev&amp;#39;y 13 s 4 d the said above to be given when my fathers obitt cometh owte.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will to every godchild 6d.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will to my son Henry 10 sheepe half ewes and half wethers one weyne and 2 cople of bullocks and 2 horse beste.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will to my son John 10 sheepe half ewes and half wethers one weine 2 cople of bullocks and 2 horses beste to be delivered at the age of 20 yeres and the same Henry and John to performe this my obitt within the church at Lyminge the space of 20 yeres as is beforesaid.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will to Richard, Robert, and William ev&amp;#39;y of them 30 sheepe half ewes and half wethers to be delivered to them at the age of 20 yeres.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will my son Thomas 6 L 13 s 4 d.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will to Chrystyn, Agnes, Jone, and Avice, my daughters to ev&amp;#39;y of them 5 pounds and to ev&amp;#39;y of them one cowe then they come to the age of 15 yeres. Yf it fortune that any of them dye within the age before said then I will the over liver of them to have the others parte equally to be devided betweene them.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will one hundreth sheepe to be sold for to paye my debtts and bequests paid and fulfilled I give it unto Avis my wife the which Avyce and Stephen Ladd I make executors and Richard Tyll my ov&amp;#39;seers to performe this my present testament and last will and I give to Stephen Ladd for his labors and paynes 20s.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This my last will of me the said Thomas Sloden made the day and yere above written.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;First I will to my sonne Henry one tenent at Hempfield contayning 6 acres of land 4 acres in Hempfield, 4 acres more or lesse called Shorland, 2 acres called Spreckhue, 5 acres more or lesse called Catthope, 2 acres more or lesse late purchased of Thomas Oldfield, 2 acres more or lesse called Barne Croft in 2 places, in Stonefield there toward the west to be had to him his heirs forever.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will to my sonne John the tenent late purchased of George Spicer w&amp;#39;t all the land there unto app&amp;#39;teyning whiche Willm Nicholas nowe hath in occupancy in East Horton and 4 acres at Bradfield next Blises land to him and his heires in fee simple.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will to my sonne Richard my tenent and cottages at Skeete also 24 acres at Skeete 5 acres under Dangdon to be had to him when he cometh to the age of 20 yeres in fee simple.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will to Avis my wiffe my tenent at Woodland with all the goods there unto appertayning the which I late purchased from John Hempstead and also called Trynte Downe the hole terme of her life and after her decease I will it remayne to William my sonne and yf it fortune William my sonne to die without issue before the age of 21 yeres then I will it remayne to the disposition of Avis my wiffe. Also 5 acres of land at Colesdane to terme of her lyfe and after her decease to remayne to my sonne Robert.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will to my sonne Robert my tenent at Hampsfield contayninge 5 acres which John Cheese nowe holdeth to farme my tenent at Horton and at Broke and 7 acres more or lesse lands late of my house in Lyminge at the Church Yard, 2 acres of land called Daygrowns at the age of 20 yeres to him in fee simple.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, Whereas I have given to my sonnes I will that my wiffe take the proffits of all such lands and tenants unto the tyme they and every of them come to the ages before named to her use yf any of my sonnes dye before the age to them assigned then I will that Avice my wiffe take the proffits of my lands and tenents to him or them assigned unto the tyme they shoulde have been at the tyme if they had lived and then remayne as before.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will that the lande late purchased from John Barron remayne to Avys my wiffe yf the said John will not agree with my wiffe then I will my executors make sale of the said lands and my wiffe to dispose of it at her disposition.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will that ye wiffe be with childe with a man childe then I will it have 20 pounds at the age of 20 yeres. Yf it be a women childe then I will it have 5 pounds at the age of 15 yeres.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Item, I will to my daughter Alys 12 ewes and one colt.
