As early as</p><p align="left">1761, he was granted land in Rowan Co on the Yadkin River. In that year he was also listed on</p><p align="left">the Rowan Co tax list.<font face="TimesNewRoman" size="1"><font face="TimesNewRoman" size="1">224</font></font></p></font><font face="TimesNewRoman">&ldquo;According to son </font><strong><font face="TimesNewRoman,Bold">John Sparks </font></strong><font face="TimesNewRoman">in making his Rev. War Pension application, </font><strong><font face="TimesNewRoman,Bold">Solomon </font></strong><font face="TimesNewRoman">and</font><font face="TimesNewRoman"> <p align="left">his family moved from the forks of the Yadkin to what is now Wilkes Co (then Surry Co) NC in</p><p align="left">1772. When the dividing line between Wilkes and Surry Co was surveyed in 1778, it was found</p>that the line cut through </font><strong><font face="TimesNewRoman,Bold">Solomon</font></strong><font face="TimesNewRoman">&rsquo;s plantation and according to the Court Minutes, his house was</font><font face="TimesNewRoman"> on the Surry side. Church records also mentioned him</p><p align="left">on 4/18/1806, and again on 6/14/1806 when he was &ldquo;excluded&rdquo;, possibly indicating that he</p><p align="left">moved to another church.<font face="TimesNewRoman" size="1"><font face="TimesNewRoman" size="1">77</font></font></p></font><font face="TimesNewRoman"><p align="left">From 1808 to 1812 he is found in Morgan Co, GA, in Conner&rsquo;s District. In 1813 he was</p><p align="left">listed as a private in Capt. Lane&rsquo;s militia unit. He served in Capt. Lane&rsquo;s Volunteer Rifle</p><p align="left">Co from 11/21/1814 to 5/6/1815. His service was based at Fort Hawkins, about 60 miles</p><p align="left">from his home.
